Toddler Shot During Father's Drug Deal: Police

Dallas police say a man has been arrested after taking his 2-year-old child to a drug deal, where the toddler was shot in the hand.

Police said the father went to buy drugs on Saturday night with his son in the back seat and that after the dealer got into the front passenger seat, the two adults got into an altercation and the dealer pulled a gun.

"A fight over the gun ensued and the gun was discharged," police said.

The father then left that location and called 911. The child was taken to Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

The father was arrested on a charge of child endangerment.
