Three North Texas police departments will get help responding to a growing number of calls involving mental health cases.
A new Mental Health Coordinator will be hired by the Hurst, Euless and Bedford police departments and will work at a new police storefront in Hurst near Pipeline Road and Bellaire Drive.
The coordinator will assist police in cases involving people who are suicidal, hostage situations and hoarders.
They expect to fill the position by October.
