Three Injured in McKinney Dog Attack: Police

McKinney police say a mother and two young girls were transported to the hospital after a dog attack Thursday evening.

A neighbor called 911 after one of the girls ran outside her home in the 3000 block of Kingsbury Drive bleeding.

"She made it outside and was screaming and said, 'I'm bleeding!' One of our other neighbors, a gentleman, called 911 and then the police responded immediately. They were here within 30 seconds probably," said neighbor Catherine Williams.

Officers arrived just before 6 p.m., and they said as they arrived they had no choice but to shoot and kill the dog to keep it from attacking.

The woman and her children were taken by ambulance to Medical Center of McKinney, police said.

Further information on the extent of their injuries or the breed of dog involved hasn't been released.
