Police said three people were killed in an early-morning wreck when a vehicle exited a highway, failed to stop at a red light and struck a series of traffic barriers.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Loop 820 at Iron Horse Boulevard.
North Richland Hills police said in a statement the vehicle was traveling westbound on 820 when it exited Meadow Lake early Sunday.
Authorities said it's unclear why the driver failed to stop before the vehicle struck a guardrail, a concrete wall and then careened over a second concrete barrier before coming to rest.
One person was ejected before the vehicle was engulfed by flames. The two other bodies were found inside after the fire was extinguished.
Police did not release the names of the dead.
