Three Dallas police officers no longer have jobs Tuesday.
Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown and Assistant Chief Michael Genovesi fired three officers during two separate hearings Monday afternoon.
Officer Jesus Martinez was charged with official oppression after an investigation revealed that he used unnecessary and/or inappropriate force against a citizen.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Martinez straddled a pedestrian June 8 he earlier saw panhandling. Video from a witness shows the pedestrian screaming in pain as Martinez pushed the pedestrian's handcuffed hands and elbows upward.
Officials said Martinez alleged that the pedestrian was resisting, but the witness who described the incident did not see any resistance.
Martinez has worked for the Department since April 2006 and was assigned to the Central Patrol Division.
Officer Casarae Womble was terminated for making threats to his children and their mother while on a recorded telephone conversation on duty Oct. 29.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Womble made threats that made the mother fear for the safety of her children who were staying with him at the time. He was questioned about the incident and denied making any threats.
Officials said Womble was arrested for harassment Oct. 31 by the Child Abuse Unit of the Department. An investigation revealed he failed to devote his time and attention to duty and was untruthful to a supervisor.

The investigation also revealed Womble was involved in a disturbance with the mother of his children in Plano Nov. 16 which led to police response.
Womble has worked for the Department since Sept. 2009 and was assigned to the Field Services Division.
Officer Julian Harris was terminated after being placed under arrest for aggravated assault Nov. 20.
Police said they were dispatched to an injured person call involving a female victim who was in a physical altercation with Harris. The victim was transported to Charlton Methodist Hospital with serious bodily injury.
Harris has worked for the Department since June 2013 and was on probation. He has no right to appeal the decision due to his probationary status.
