Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Preston Hollow Home

A Preston Hollow home estimated last year at $1.5 million is a total loss following a three-alarm fire Friday evening.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the two-story home in 6300 block of Royalton Drive at about 7:09 p.m.

Fire department spokesman Jason Evans said the fire appears to have started in the attic, but officials were investigating a backyard fireplace as another possible source.

Officials said 30 to 40 people, including two children, were inside the home to celebrate a work anniversary at the time of the fire, and everyone managed to get outside safely.

Two firefighters developed minor knee injuries during the course of battling the fire.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the home is now considered a total loss.
