Third Woman Dies After Arlington Crash

A woman injured in a crash that killed two of her friends on Sunday has died, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office.

Martha Perez, 26, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Medical Center Arlington, according to the medical examiner, where she had been treated since Sunday morning's crash.

Arlington police said Eldrick Westbrook, 38, is suspected of running a red light before crashing into the girls' vehicle at the intersection of Matlock Road and the westbound Interstate 20 service road.

The impact caused their vehicle to spin around and crash into a traffic light at the intersection, police said.

The crash killed 26-year-old Alejandra Alvarado, who died at the scene, and 19-year-old Alexandra Rodriguez, who died Sunday while receiving treatment at Medical Center Arlington.

A fourth occupant of the vehicle, a male, was treated at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for injuries that were not life threatening.

Westbrook was also treated for minor injuries and was arrested upon release from the hospital. Investigators suspect Westbrook was intoxicated and have charged him with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault.

Westbrook is currently being held in the Tarrant County Jail on $120,000 bail.
