Third Teen Charged in Grandfather Murder

Police working to identify three others in attack

Dallas police have made a third arrest in connection with the murder of 66-year-old Lorenzo Moreno.

A 16-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, was arrested Wednesday at JJ Pierce High School on a capital murder warrant.  The teen is now being kept at the Lone Star Juvenile Detention Center.

On Monday night, a 16-year-old girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend were arrested at an apartment in Dallas.  They have both since been charged with capital murder.

Moreno was shot and killed Sunday while protecting his family from a horde of teens who came to the family's home to confront his granddaughter.

In the attack, Moreno's granddaughter, son and wife were all beaten and hospitalized.  They have since been released from the hospital.

The reason for the attack has not been revealed.

Dallas police said there are three more people they are working to identify and arrest.  The investigation is ongoing.
