The world's largest gingerbread house is in Bryan, Texas.

The Guinness Book of World Records confirmed the world record status this week.

The Texas A&M Traditions Club built the holiday-themed house.

It took thousands of pounds of butter, brown sugar, eggs and flour to make the gingerbread bricks that make up the 39,000 square foot home.

On the outside, there are more than 23,400 pieces of hard candy including candy canes and lollipops.

The previous record holder was a 36,000 square foot gingerbread house inside the Mall of America.

The massive gingerbread house is open to the public through December 14.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for kids, and all the proceeds go to St. Joseph hospital trauma center.
