Texas Woman Arrested on DWI Blames Crash on Bad GPS

Police in Central Texas say a woman accused of driving while intoxicated is blaming crashing into an outdoor pavilion on bad GPS directions.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports Tristan McKenzie Dansby was driving with her 6-year-old son when she crashed her vehicle into a picnic pavilion in the town of Moody on Friday evening.

Moody police Officer Louise Lopez says Dansby told officers her GPS device led her into the pavilion outside the local housing authority complex.

Lopez says police concluded the 28-year-old Dansby was driving while intoxicated after she failed a field sobriety test.

Dansby was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child and with endangering a child. Police say Dansby's son suffered a minor injury from his seat belt.

Jail records didn't list an attorney for Dansby.
