Texas Wildlife Employee Dies at Hatchery

San Marcos police are investigating the death of a Texas Parks and Wildlife employee.

Police say they responded Tuesday afternoon to a report of an unconscious man at a wildlife fish hatchery.

They say the worker was in a chamber about 20 to 30 feet underground when he collapsed. Police have not released his name.

The hatchery opened in 1949 and specializes in rearing fingerling fish for more than 300 Texas reservoirs.
