Texas Trooper Finds 2 Tons of Marijuana in Pressure Washer

A South Texas traffic stop has led to 2 tons of marijuana found inside a pressure washer system in an estimated $24 million drug bust.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday announced the driver from the Houston area faces drug distribution charges over the Starr County stop.

The DPS said a trooper on Monday pulled over a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. 83 west of Roma (ROH'-muh). The trooper discovered 174 bundles of marijuana in the pressure washer skid being towed on a flatbed trailer.

The DPS said 42-year-old Carlos A. Lozano of Pasadena was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to possess marijuana. Lozano was placed in federal custody.

Investigators didn't immediately provide further information on the suspect.
