Blindfolded, Nearly Naked Texas State Student Makes Statement With Art

A Texas State University student who stripped to a thong and pasties has defended her near-nudity as an art project in support of sexual assault victims.

The San Antonio Express-News reports campus police on Monday allowed the woman, identified as Monika Rostvold, to remain outside the school library.

The fine arts senior, who said she's a sexual assault survivor, wore a blindfold while seated on the library steps. Two of her classmates videotaped the reaction of those passing by.

The student, in a phone interview with the Express-News, said the project focused on reaction of other students and objectification of the female body.

The student said she wanted people to view her body as beauty and power, and not a sexual object.

Sgt. Daniel Benitez said the student did not break the law.
