A Houston-area police officer has been accused of propositioning a 13-year-old girl whose family sought his help.
Jacinto City police Capt. Thomas Harmon DeMont has been charged with indecency with a child.
The 49-year-old DeMont was arrested Wednesday, with bond set at $50,000. Fort Bend County Jail records Thursday indicated DeMont is no longer in custody.
A woman in April allegedly asked DeMont for help because her daughter had trouble in school. A criminal complaint says DeMont met the girl at the home of one of her relatives, allegedly exposed himself and asked her to perform a sex act.
The teen fled and said DeMont threatened to kill her family if she complained.
No publicly listed phone number could immediately be located for DeMont, who's on administrative leave with pay.
