Texas Man Charged for Firing Gun inside Bar

A Texas man has been charged after he fired his handgun twice during an argument with other men outside a western North Dakota bar.

KXMB-TV reports that 36-year-old John Polk Jr. fired his handgun into the air after he got into an argument with a group of men leaving a bar in Williston.

Authorities say Polk fired his gun again after he was tackled. The bullet hit a cellphone that one of the men had in the pocket of his pants and exited through is shirt.

The officers who responded to the incident found Polk beaten up on the ground.

Polk has been charged with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits. Court records do not list an attorney for Polk.
