Texas Couple Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Mail

A judge has sentenced two people each to at least two years in prison for stealing mail from North Texas residents.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports William Lee Maglicco, 28, was sentenced to two and half years in prison. Erica Michele Gibson, 26, was sentenced to three years and four months.

Authorities began an investigation after several Southlake residents reported their mail was stolen. One victim told police a credit card was mailed to them, but was never received.

U.S. postal inspectors tracked the card to a Grapevine store, where it was used, and later traced it to the couple. Investigators found hundreds of pieces of stolen mail at their home, including credit and debit cards, bank statements, passports and tax information.

Police say the couple's arrest closed 21 cases of mail theft in Southlake.
