Texas Chick-fil-A Owner Gives Back on Football Sundays

Chick-fil-A's "closed on Sunday" policy is well known, but one Texas Chick-fil-A owner uses that day to give back to the community.

Chick-fil-A owner Carmenza Moreno knew that her store on North Collins Street in Arlington, located just a half-mile from AT&T Stadium, would be a great parking spot for football fans.

During each Dallas Cowboys home game, Moreno lets a local community organization sell parking spots in her restaurant's otherwise empty parking lot with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting that organization.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star received a check from this Chick-fil-A restaurant for $17,813 thanks to Moreno's idea.

In the past five years, Morenzo's Chick-fil-A parking lot has generated more than $62,000 for DFW-area organizations.

Other community organizations that have benefited from this partnership include the booster club for Lamar High School's girls' soccer team and the YMCA of Arlington.
