Texas Boy Faces Capital Murder Charges in Shooting

A 13-year-old Northeast Texas boy has been arrested on two warrants for capital murder in the deaths of his father and brother.

Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe told The Texarkana Gazette the teen was arrested Tuesday night at the family's home near Hughes Springs. The boy was arraigned Wednesday on two juvenile counts of capital murder.

Authorities have not released his name.

Deputies on June 27 found the bodies of the 32-year-old man and the 12-year-old boy. The sheriff said officers responded to a 911 call from the 13-year-old boy.

Rowe said the warrants were issued following the discovery of new evidence. The sheriff declined to provide additional details.

The suspect, whose name hasn't been released, remains at a juvenile detention facility pending another hearing later this month.
