Texas A&M to Auction 12THMAN Plate

Texas A&M University and MyPlates.com are offering up an iconic plate.

The university will auction off a special license plate with the Texas A&M logo and the inscription 12THMAN in maroon and white.

Bidding starts Aug. 12 and runs through Sept. 12 on MyPlates.com.

“The 12th Man tradition at Texas A&M dates back to 1922 and signifies the loyalty and selfless service that is embodied by Aggies everywhere,” said Texas A&M Senior Associate Athletics Director Jason Cook in a press release. “As a special honor, we’ll present the 12THMAN license plate to the My Plates auction winner in front of nearly 90,000 fans during the Texas A&M vs. Alabama game September 14th.”

This is the first time the message has been available on a Texas license plate. The winner of the auction will have the right to the plate for a ten year term and then have first chance to renew the plate.
