Teen Threatens to Blow Up Pipeline Near DART Station

An 18-year-old Dallas man is in custody and charged with terroristic threat after threatening to blow up pipe lines near Dallas Area Rapid Transit's St. Paul Station.

According to DART, at about 6 p.m. Sunday the teen, later identified as Charles Woodson, notified 911 that he was at the St. Paul Station and was going to blow up a nearby pipeline.

Officers with the DART Police Department responded, determined the man's threats were false and took him into custody, according to Mark Ball, with DART.

DART's Morgan Lyons said the teen had a bag of clothes with him and some electronic equipment, but no device or bomb materials. Lyons said trains operating between the West End and Pearl stations were stopped while the incident was investigated and were back in regular service after 7 p.m.

Woodson has been charged with terroristic threat, section 22.07(e), causing interruption of public transportation, placing the public in fear of serious bodily injury and influencing the conduct of a branch or agency of the federal government. The charge is a third degree felony.

Woodson is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $5,000 bond.

The bomb squad from the Dallas Police Department assisted in the investigation.
