Teen Cyclist Struck in Southlake Dies from Injuries

A teenager has died a day after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle Monday night in Southlake.[[298877591,C]]

James "Cole" Malone, 16, was riding his bike in the 600 block of Byron Nelson Parkway when he was hit by a car, police said.

Paramedics transported Malone to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital by medical helicopter, authorities said, and he died just before 3 p.m. Tuesday from his injuries.

Southlake Police Department Spokeswoman Kim Leach said the driver stopped and spoke to officers.

There is no word if the driver will face charges.
