Teen Helps Plano Police Nab Burglary Suspect

Plano police say they are investigating whether a man who landed behind bars Wednesday could be behind more than 20 break-ins in recent months.

The suspect, identified by police as 28-year-old Farhood Sani Allahdadi, was arrested after an alleged burglary attempt in the 5800 block of Suffolk Lane, and police caught up to him thanks to a quick-thinking teenager.

Riashat Ishmam, 17, said he was upstairs on his computer when he heard a knock on the door. That knock became louder, so he called 911.

Moments later, the suspect was inside the home after entering through a back window. The Plano West High School senior was in his parents' bathroom as Allahdadi allegedly rummaged through his mother's jewelry just feet away.

Six minutes after the 911 call, police were outside the house just as Allahdadi came back out the window, and he was taken into custody.

Now, the family, and especially Riashat, are feeling extremely relieved.

"I'm just standing still in the bathroom, and, ugh, in my mind I'm like, 'If he opens the bathroom door, I could be dead or something," he said. "I didn't know if he had any weapons or anything, so I was just praying and hoping that he wouldn't open the bathroom door."

Again, police said Allahdadi is just charged with one burglary, but investigators are looking into the possibility he could be connected to the more than 20 similar types of break-ins.
