Fort Worth Police Department spokesman Scott Conn said officers responded to a shooting call at the Casa Villa Apartments on the 6100 block of Oakland Hills Drive at about 11:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, Conn said they found a 16-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, whose name has not been released, told police that he and a friend were driving in the area when someone shot him, Conn said.

The two then drove to the apartment complex where they called 911.

The teen was stable when an ambulance transported him to a nearby hospital, Conn said.  His injury is not believed to be life threatening, police said.
