Technical Issue Leaves Nearly 2,000 Without Power

A technical issue left over 2,000 customers without electricity on DFW's hottest day since Aug 2012., an Oncor spokeswoman told NBC 5.

Crews with Oncor worked to fix an issue involving a piece of equipment known as a "feeder." The problem was identified, but electricity was not expected to be restored until 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oncor said.

As of 8 p.m. Sunday, electricity was restored for most customers. At the same time, another 3,000 customers were left without electricity near Southeast Arlington. Power was expected to be restored at 9 p.m.

Sunday was the hottest day recorded in Dallas/Fort Worth since Aug 14, 2012. Initial reports of the power outage came near the hottest time of day, after 5 p.m.
