Tarrant County Confirms First Human West Nile Case of 2016

Tarrant County health officials confirmed the county's first human case of West Nile virus in 2016 on Wednesday.

The person lives in the Bedford area and has the more serious neuroinvasive form of the disease, according to Tarrant County Public Health.

The county is not releasing any more details, in order to protect that person's identity.

Last year two Tarrant County residents died after contracting West Nile virus.
