TCU Graduate Recovering After Being Shot During Las Vegas Massacre

A Texas Christian University graduate is fighting for her life after being badly hurt during the Las Vegas mass shooting Sunday, according to her employer.

Elle Gargano graduated from TCU in 2016 with a degree in strategic communications, a TCU spokeswoman confirms.

She returned to her home state and currently works as a marketing assistant for Zumasys in Irvine, Calif.

Gargano was attending the country music festival on Oct. 1 with a friend and was near the front of the stage when the shooting began, a Facebook post from Zumasys read on Tuesday.

Gargano was shot in the back of the head. Her friend was uninjured.

Zumasys writes Gargano underwent surgery early Monday morning and "remains sedated and is recovering. The next 72 hours are critical."

HOW TO HELP: A GoFundMe page has been established to help with Gargano's medical expenses.

Gargano is one of at least three Las Vegas shooting victims with ties to Texas, including Texas Tech graduate Danae Gibbs and Seguin Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure.
