Suspicious Package Found on DART Bus

A reported suspicious package on a DART bus turned out to be nothing more than an oddly wrapped item.

According to DART Public Information Officer Morgan Lyons, a rider on the bus spotted a rectangular package by itself, in the back of the bus and notified the driver, who notified dispatch.

The bus driver was told to pull over and evacuate the four passengers while DART police sent out a bomb sniffing dog. The dog's reaction was enough that they requested Dallas Police send out their Explosive Ordinance unit to check it out.

After investigating further, the package was discovered to be simply paper towel rolls wrapped in duct tape. Officials say they have no idea who put it there or if it was done malicously.
