The Arlington Police Department is investigating a 1-year-old child's death as suspicious after brusing was found on the child's body.

Someone called 911 at about 12:30 a.m. Friday and reported an unresponsive child at a motel on the 1200 block of West Division Street.

Officers and paramedics arrived and found the boy had been moved to the front office of the motel. The child, later identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner as Landon Fernandez, was transported to Arlington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating the child's death due to suspicious bruising found on his body.

The medical examiner will determine Fernandez's cause of death.
