A man suspected of stealing a vehicle in North Texas died after being hit by another vehicle while fleeing on foot, police say.
Arlington police said the man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a car while running along Texas 360.
Police said the man was confronted by the person whose vehicle he was accused of stealing and that he got out of the vehicle and tried to run away.
The man jumped down an embankment and ran across the northbound lanes of 360, where he was struck by oncoming traffic.
The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead on scene.
The northbound lanes were shut down for hours while police investigated.
