A jury convicted Fernando Sosa-Pintor of two counts of distributing and one count of possessing child pornography Thursday, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales said.

According to the indictment, Garland and Longview detectives conducted undercover investigations into peer-to-peer file sharing networks in 2014. The detectives testified they downloaded videos of child pornography from an IP address that was traced to Tradicion Mexicana, a Sulphur Springs restaurant owned by Sosa-Pintor.

Hopkins County Sheriff's deputies searched the restaurant and found a computer that contained other child pornography videos, according to authorities.

Officers testified that Sosa-Pintor admitted to using the file sharing program to obtain child pornography.

Sosa-Pintor faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each charge.
