Student Doing Pull-Ups Bursts Sprinkler System at Timber Creek High School

A student doing pull-ups on a sprinkler system pipe caused a brief evacuation at Timber Creek High School Monday.

Keller Independent School District spokeswoman Nicole McCollum said the student doing pull-ups the sprinkler system caused the pipe to burst, the sprinklers and the fire alarm activated.

Students were evacuated as necessary when a fire alarm sounds, but were let back into the building without incident.

An email sent to isee@nbcdfw.com showed black water on the floor inside the school.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said the water from the sprinkler system is black because it's stagnant in the sprinkler system, it is not hazardous.

McCollum said no students got sick and none went to the nurse's office.
