Student Confesses to Bomb Threat at Flower Mound's Lamar Middle School: Police

The Flower Mound Police Department detained a middle school student Wednesday in connection with a bomb threat emailed to his school.

According to police, the Lamar Middle School student, whose name is not being released due to his age, was released to his parents after confessing to sending threatening emails to school personnel.

Investigators have not revealed a motive for the email or said who was targeted but they did say the messages qualified as a Terroristic Threat.

Earlier Wednesday, police said they were called to the school after school officials received an email regarding a bomb threat on campus.

After a search by Flower Mound officers and a K-9 Unit from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the school was determined to be clear.

Following the sweep, students and faculty were allowed to resume a normal schedule.

It is not yet known what charges, if any, the juvenile may face in connection with the threat.
