Stuck Snake: Homeowner Finds Snake In His Sink

It was a snake in a drain -- but this was no plumber's snake.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reported Saturday that a homeowner in China Spring, northwest of Waco, called police Friday after spotting what was likely a non-venomous rat snake in his bathroom sink's drain.

About 3 feet of the snake made it through the drain's opening before getting caught in the pipe.

Police disassembled the piping and sink, but part of the snake was still stuck in the drain opening.  Officers attempted to pull it out, then left it alone, hoping it could find its own way free.

But, when it became clear it was stuck and would die, police killed it humanely.

Long, flexible coils known as plumber's augers are often commonly called plumber's or plumbing snakes.
