A Benbrook man told Fort Worth police Tuesday he may have shot a 62-year-old woman with a stray .50 caliber bullet at Texas Motor Speedway over the weekend.
Jill King Moss said the bullet crashed through her RV, hit her arm and then ended up lodged in the wall on Sunday.
Kennith Jaramillo, 49, told detectives the bullet may have come from his weapon. He said he was target shooting Sunday about five miles away near a rifle range from about 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., police said.
Jaramillo told police he came forward after a friend told him about a news report on the shooting.
The bullet fractured Moss' arm in four places. She was recovering at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth on Sunday.
Police confiscated Jaramillo's rifle to conduct ballistics tests to see if the weapon matches the recovered bullet.
Jaramillo could face charges in connection with the shooting if police the stray bullet came from his rifle, police said.
