A Southwest Airlines employee was shaken up after a Southwest plane struck a catering truck, knocking it over, Tuesday evening at Denver International Airport.
None of the 143 passengers or crew on board flight 4309 to San Jose, Calif., were injured when the plane collided with the parked truck while being pushed back from the gate, the Dallas-based airline told NBC affiliate KUSA-TV.
The Southwest employee operating the truck was transported to a Denver hospital for evaluation, and the plane was removed from service for repairs.
Southwest said the passengers would be accommodated on other flights to San Jose.
The airline provided to following statement to KUSA:
"There were no injuries reported onboard the aircraft operating flight 4309 from Denver to San Jose, California, as it was being pushed back from a gate and came in contact with a parked aircraft service vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a Southwest Employee, was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. The aircraft involved remains out of service for repairs. The safety of our Customers and Crew is our highest priority and we appreciate the patience of our 143 Customers as we work to re-accommodate them on another aircraft."
