Southwest Jet to Dallas Safely Returns to Austin

A Southwest Airlines jet bound for Dallas has safely returned to Austin amid reports of smoke in the cabin.

Officials say no injuries were reported as Southwest Flight 4625 returned to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport just minutes after takeoff Sunday night.

Austin firefighters responded to the scene as the Boeing 737 landed and taxied back to the gate.

Overnight all of the 27 passengers were put on a different flight to Dallas Love Field.

Further details on the incident weren't immediately available.

Messages left Monday with Dallas-based Southwest weren't immediately returned.
