Southwest Closer to International Flights

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines could be closer to flying internationally.

FareCompare.com reports that beginning Sept. 5 the airline's flight attendants will vote whether or not to begin flying outside of the continental United States.

Possible destinations include Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Latin America.

A similar agreement has been approved by pilots, FareCompare reported.

Southwest has already agreed to pay $100 million for a five-gate expansion at Houston's Hobby Airport that would allow them to provide international flights.
