South Texas Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Fatal Punch

A South Texas man must serve six years in prison for punching another man in the head during a 2013 fight outside a strip club and the victim later died.

Mark Booker was sentenced Monday in Corpus Christi. The 46-year-old Booker on Friday was convicted of manslaughter.

Police say Booker and 45-year-old Jeffry Schexnider got into an argument inside a Corpus Christi strip club and both were asked to leave. Authorities say the dispute continued in the parking lot, where Schexnider was slugged in the head and fell to the ground. He died later at a hospital.

Booker could have been sentenced to as much as 20 years in prison.
