Law enforcement officers have saved nearly 40 immigrants from the blistering South Texas heat but found another man dead.
Border Patrol officials on Wednesday announced two separate rescues of people believed to be in the U.S. illegally.
Supervisory Agent Marlene Castro says the 39 immigrants, located Sunday and Monday, were not hurt and all were being processed.
The National Weather Service says high temperatures on both days topped 100 degrees.
Agents responded to a call from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office about 19 immigrants abandoned by human smugglers. The immigrants were located in La Grulla and given water and checked for medical issues.
Hours later agents working in Brooks County, tracking immigrants on a ranch, located a man's body. Castro says agents then found 20 immigrants nearby.
