A Dozen North Texas Schools Return to Class

Buses will be rolling again as many schools reopen Wednesday and Thursday.

The sudden vacation thanks to the Swine Flu has come to an end for the Fort Worth ISD, as schools prepare for students and staff to return to class.

Schools Scramble To Reopen

Several North Texas school districts are scrambling to reopen after new guidelines from the government advising against canceling classes over swine flu concerns.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it is no longer recommending that schools be closed because of suspected swine flu cases since the virus has turned out to be milder than initially feared.

Here is a list of schools that will re-open this week.

Opening Friday, May 8

  • Fort Worth ISD

Opening Monday, May 11

  • Alvord ISD
  • Azle ISD
  • Bridgeport ISD
  • Cleburne ISD
  • Fort Worth Can Academy
  • Kaufman ISD
  • Northlake Elementary (Richardson ISD)
  • Waterford Oaks Elementary (Cedar Hill ISD)
