Six children and an adult were hospitalized as a precaution following a chain reaction crash in Arlington Monday morning.

The driver of a 15-passenger van slammed on his brakes and turned his wheel to avoid hitting a car in front of him, rolling the van, Arlington police said.

The driver in front of the van had slowed because of a previous crash involving an 18-wheeler and other vehicles near southbound state Highway 360 and Mayfield Road.

None of the injuries were believed to be serious and all the children on the van, ages 5 to 11, were transported to area hospitals as a precaution.
