One person has been taken into custody and another injured at an apartment building near Fair Park after gunshots were reported.

Initial reports indicated someone was shooting a gun in the courtyard of the Delta Plaza apartment building on the 2300 block of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard.

More than a dozen police cars and SWAT vehicles were in the area while the search for a shooter was under way. Officials also blocked traffic along part of Cullum and 2nd Avenue between Borich and Harmon streets.

At 4:50 p.m., one person was taken into custody and a shotgun was recovered.

Dallas police said two females were struck with shrapnel from the suspect's shotgun.

One female was taken to Baylor Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second female refused medical attention.
