1 Injured in Shooting at Oak Cliff Apartment Complex

Dallas police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in south Oak Cliff Tuesday night.

The shooting was reported at about 9 p.m. at the Sunrise Village Apartments in the 4800 block of Sunnyvale Street, according to Officer Monica Cordova, with the Dallas Police Department.

There was a loud argument between two men inside the apartment, serious enough that someone called 911 to report the situation, a neighbor said.

Before officers could arrive, multiple witnesses reported hearing at least three shotgun blasts.

One witness said he saw the shooting happen, and that it took place in the breezeway outside of the apartment where the argument started.

When police pulled up, the a person ran back into the apartment, according to Cordova.

SWAT was called to the apartment complex, but the person surrendered without incident before their arrival, according to police.

Dallas Fire-Rescue rushed the victim to Baylor Medical Center. The victim's condition is not known at this time.
