The Harris County Sheriff's Office said they are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who was fatally shot in the head Tuesday.
Deputies said the boy's 2-year-old sister and a 6-year-old brother were the only other people inside the Katy home during the shooting. They said the children's mother was outside smoking when the gun fired.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
It's unclear who fired the gun.
Their identities haven't been released.
