Sexual Assault Suspects Met Victim Online: Police

Men used social networking to lure in young girls.

Richardson police say two men suspected in the sexual assaults of a teenage girl met the victim on a popular social networking site.

Orlando Nino-Carrera, 17, and Enrique Torres, 37, were arrested last week in connection with the assault of a 14-year-old Richardson girl. Police said a third man who goes by the street name "Trompas" may also be involved.

A couple picked up the girl after she was left on the frontage road of South Central Expressway in Richardson and called 911 at 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 14.

"In the middle of the night, a young lady was dropped off on a street. She was picked up by another motorist, who then contacted us," Sgt. Kevin Perlich said.

Police said the girl was crying and told them she thought the men were her friends. She said she thought the men may have drugged beer they gave her and then sexually assaulted her in the back of their sport utility vehicle.

Perlich said the case should be a reminder to teenagers to be cautious online.

"They need to know that everybody they meet and chat with online -- even though it seems very friendly, it can turn out to be anything but friendly," he said.

Richardson police said that anyone who knows of the third man should call them at 972-744-4800.
