17-Year Brain Tumor Survivor Hopes To Inspire Others

Legacy Brain Foundation to host Celebration of Life Luncheon

The Legacy Brain Foundation's annual Celebration of Life event is next weekend.

It's a chance to recognize brain cancer survivors and inspire those undergoing treatment.

This year's guest speaker is a 17-year survivor who was told he had two weeks to live.

"That's one of the things that's amazing about Dr. (Ben) William's story" said Dr. Virginia Stark-Vance, founder of Legacy Brain Foundation.

"Back when he was diagnosed there really weren't that many treatments available. And he happened to be in a research setting; he's a PhD and psychologist in San Diego, so he was kind of able to help himself with his own research," said Stark-Vance.

The Celebration of Life event is May 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hotel Intercontinental in Addison. You can get tickets here.
