Police have arrested two men accused of robbing four North Texas jewelry stores at gunpoint.
Mark D. Whitfield, 35, and Michael D. Jackson, 37, face federal charges with conspiracy to commit robbery and using, carrying and brandishing a firearm in a crime of violence.
The men are accused of the following armed robberies:
October 18, 2013: Marquise Jewelers, Dallas
February 4, 2014: Marquise Jewelers, Dallas
February 24, 2014: Classic Jewelers, Lewisville (Vista Ridge Mall)
April 30, 2014: Gianni's Jewelers, Lewisville (Vista Ridge Mall)
Officers said during each robbery, the men would enter the store and one would ask to see diamond rings. The other man, armed with a pistol, would force the store employee to the floor, then steal jewelry from display cases.
