For the first time, the State Fair of Texas announced the semifinalists for the Big Tex Choice Awards.
The list of 55 entries was whittled down to the final 34 in the competition for the titles of Best Taste and Most Creative.
The next round of judging takes place during the next few weeks before the the finalists are announced Aug. 28.
