Second Drowning in 24 Hours at Lake Ray Hubbard: Texas Game Warden

Crews have recovered the body of a man who drowned in Lake Ray Hubbard Monday afternoon, according to the Texas Game Warden.

Officials said two people were on a sailboat in the lake at about 2:30 p.m.

A 48-year-old man was attempting to raise the sail when the wind swung the boom around. The boom hit the man, knocking him out of the boat and into the water, police said.

The other person on the boat threw a flotation device to the victim, but he couldn't reach it.

The game warden was called and after a brief search, the victim's body was found. His identity has not been released.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.

This is the second drowning at Lake Ray Hubbard in less than 24 hours.

The Dallas Police Department found the body of a 43-year-old man at about 12:45 p.m. Monday after he jumped from the boat he was on Sunday afternoon. He jumped in to save a man who was drowning.
