School Bus Involved in East Fort Worth Crash: Officials

Units called to the scene to help keep children warm amid freezing temperatures

A child was hurt in a crash involving a Fort Worth Independent School District school bus Thursday morning, authorities said.

A bus heading to Trimble Tech High School swerved to miss another vehicle, striking a concrete barrier near the intersection of Sandy Lane and Arbor Hill Drive shortly before 7 a.m., officials said.

One of the nine children on board was reportedly hurt, said Clint Bond, FWISD spokesman.

Temperatures were at or below freezing at the time of the crash. Two ambulances were brought in to keep the students warm.

The remaining students were taken to school in a second bus shortly after.
